Virtue

I have just finished reading a book called virtue, by Amanda Hocking. I chose to read this book because I have read the Trylle trilogy which Amanda Hocking also wrote. I love the style of writing that Amanda Hocking writes with. She has a way of keeping your eyes glued to her books.

Virtue is an incredible read. It's full of romance of the best kind, and action that will make your heart stop. I loved this book from beginning to end.
The book is about how love over-rules everything; Evil, good, distance and even differences. The book most definitely reiterates the saying "opposites attract."

Lux is the opposite of good. He has made some terrible choices in his past, some that a difficult to forgive. Once you are one of Valefors 7 minions, you are always one.

Lily on the other hand, is the opposite of Lux, she had a kind heart and trusts anyone. When she meets Lux, her whole world changes, and nothing looks the same again. She has feelings for Lux, but she can't shake the feeling of doubt...

When fate brings them together, will Lux obey his master? Or will he put his life on the line for an innocent girl he just met?

On Lily's journey she faces giant dogs from hell, fire breathing dragons and trees that move, but she also makes a friend who seems to know a lot about Lily already, and who once new her mother...

I recommend this book to the girls. It's absolutely amazing! I will happily read it again.

Have a read of this book and find out if Lux and Lily live happily ever after.

Echoes of the Past

Echoes of the past is a book that my brother Alex wrote. It is part of a trilogy but so far only one has been written.

If you have an e-reader you can purchase this book online at:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/176-6350953-0099401?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Echoes+of+the+past+by+Alex+Just

If you have a KOBO you can purchase it online from:

http://www.kobobooks.com/search/search.html?q=echoes+of+the+past+by+alex+just

This book is one more suited for the boys. It has action, mystery and suspense. It combines different stories at different times, in to one story in one point in time.

Below is the blurb Alex wrote about the book:

“A groan, uneven, ragged breathing. They both heard it at the same time. Tom’s heart thudding loudly against his ribs, a caged animal trying to escape, he edged over to where the sound was coming from. Right on the water line was a body.”

Stranded, without water, food or shelter, 17 year old Tom has only the company of his best friend Martin and a rich, spoilt girl, Julia, who’s keeping something from them. Thrown into a complex web that is the foundation of a past of which Tom has remained ignorant his whole life, he’s forced to acknowledge who and what he really his. Secrets which have been closely guarded until now are about to change Tom’s life forever as he is faced with a reality he never knew existed. Everything he’s been led to believe so far has been a lie…

Stanley Muddingfield, ex FBI, re-assigned to a new secret division of US intelligence, finds his holidays disrupted as the past which should long have been buried, is violently unearthed. Plunged back into a world he’d long left behind, Stan is forced into a race against time and an old enemy who is smarter and deadlier than is comforting to imagine. A fight to prevent global dystopia has begun and the only one who can find the answers, is Stan.

I was one of the first people to read it and I loved it! Also if you buy these books, make sure to read the first few pages carefully because I am acknowledged!

Switched

SWITCHED BY AMANDA HOCKING

Have you ever felt out of place? Like you don't belong? Well then you can relate to Wendy Everly.

When Wendy Everly was five years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster, switched at birth, and tried to kill her. Her mother's been locked up ever since.

Now shes 16 and lives with her brother Matt and her Aunt Maggie. Though Wendy tries to tell herself she isn't the monster her mother accused her of being, Wendy cant help the feeling of doubt she gets every time she looks in the mirror...

Without knowing how or why Wendy has discovered that she has the ability to influence people's decisions, so much so that she can tell people what to do in her mind and they will obey.
Then one night the new and mysteriously handsome guy in town, Finn Holmes knocks on her bedroom window and suddenly nothing is the same as it was...

Finally with the knowledge that Wendy is not alone, she is relieved. Finn is the answer to her past, present and future. But will this new found knowledge push her over the edge?

Among the trylle, Wendy has great responsibilities and the only one she feels she can trust is Finn.
A war is coming.
The trylle are counting on Wendy. The question is, can she save them?
Or will everything Wendy loves be destroyed? Her fate, love and life.
Her kingdom needs protection.
And she is the only one who can provide it.

I absolutely loved this book! It is part of the trylle trilogy. (Switched, Torn, Ascend.)
From these books it is clear that Amanda Hocking has a wild imagination and isn't afraid to put it in a book!
She has put romance and action in the perfect combination.

I am sure I will read these books again!

City of Bones

Last year I read a series called The Mortal Instruments.
(The City of Bones, The City of Ashes, The City of Glass, The City of Fallen Angles, The City of Lost Souls and The City of heavenly fire yet to come out.)

I found this series a very good combination and balance of both action and romance, with a few twists...

The mortal instruments are about Shadowhunters, demons, angles and more and I strongly recommend it to everyone!

I read all five that are out at the moment in a couple of weeks and I'm sure you will too once you start reading them!!

Cassandra Clare has done an amazing job on these books and I cant wait to read more of them. She has quite a different style of writing to most authors and that's what makes these books so good. Its almost as if shes writing from experience. Shes writing about an adventure, and shes put you in the adventure.

Below is the blurb from the first book that I found online:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

You should definitely read these books! They will keep you reading late at night! :)

Hush Hush

At the moment I am reading a series called Hush Hush. So far I think these books are amazing! They keep you reading right from the first pages. I am currently on the last book (Finale) and cant wait to see what happens.

Filled with comedy, action, romance and mystery, these books are a great read, mainly for girls.

Below is a blurb I wrote about the first book Hush Hush:

Nora Grey is 16 years old. She's your average high school girl who studies and always plays by the book. The odd girls night out with her best friend Vee is as often as Nora ever leaves the farmhouse apart from school. Nora's father was murdered a year ago and the killer was never found, Nora has never quite felt like herself again...

All that and more is about to change as mysterious and good-looking, biology partner Patch falls for her. Patch has many secrets in his past and none of them are good. Falling for Nora was the best thing he ever did.

As Patch and Nora grow closer, suddenly all her friends and family are warning her that Patch is bad news. A part of Nora agrees and tries to stay away, but the more dominant part is pulling her closer to Patch and his secrets.

But as Nora finds herself falling for Patch, will she uncover the truth about not only his past, but hers too? Or will it become to much to handle? Does love always win? Or will Hell conquer Heaven this time?

There are four books in this saga; Hush Hush, Crescendo, Silence and Finale.
